Double Murder Brownie Cheesecake

This cheesecake has a brownie bottom, it may be twice the work but it's just too good, you'll have everyone trying to kill you for the recipe.

Brownie Base Recipe:

2 ounces unsweetened chocolate
1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg slightly beaten
1 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup flour

Melt the chocolate and butter together, add vanilla and egg. Stir in sugar, salt and flour.
Spoon this into a buttered and floured 9-inch round pan and bake in the oven at 325 degrees for 20 minutes. In the meantime prepare the cheesecake batter.

Cheesecake Filling Recipe:

16 ounces of cream cheese softened (2 blocks)
4 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 cup of sour cream (1/2 pint)
1 dash vanilla extract
1/2 cup of heavy cream
Lemon zest (1/2 lemon)

In a bowl, beat the cream cheese and eggs until softened and combined. Add sugar and beat until creamy. Stir in sour cream, vanilla, heavy cream and lemon zest. Once the brownie base is cooked, pour filling into pan and bake at 325 degrees for 50-55 minutes. Watch to see if top looks set or cracked. Cool for half hour and place into fridge. Cut, serve, devour. I hope you try my double murder brownie cheesecake!
